Our CSR conference

Encouraging people to use eco-friendly means of transport, integrating the socially excluded and managing fluids are all part of a CSR approach to events.

The events industry is one of the most polluting sectors. The Cité des Congrès Valenciennes has organized a conference on the subject, with a view to taking action on a local scale.

Environmental issues and successful events: how do you reconcile the two? That’s the question we set out to answer.

Served by La Cantine de Joséphineour guests chatted over fruit, madeleines and seasonal juices.

Our speakers

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), defined as the voluntary contribution of companies to sustainable development issues, both in their activities and in their interactions with stakeholders, by INSEE.

Employees are becoming increasingly aware of their company’s CSR objectives. This is leading managers and professional organizers to rethink their corporate and public events. Maxime François begins by explaining the challenges and new ways of thinking about events.

Solutions for everyone

Through the development of photovoltaic energies and operational plans, GL events places particular emphasis on its CSR approach. Rémi Roche explains the challenges and actions of this global group.

Using geothermal energy, recycling our bio-waste via Les Alchimistes and working with local service providers are all actions cited by Camille Philippot at the Cité des Congrès Valenciennes.

Whatever the type of event organized, it’s possible to take action on a small scale. Delphine Verdavaine and Céline Simon show us that there are many possibilities, whether it’s through the use of goodies as part of a CSR approach, or by controlling food quantities.
